I just today found out that Godaddy has a Discount offer for .COM, .NET, .ORG domain names where you can buy the domain for just $1.99

A reminder that Godaddy charges $0.20 for I-CANN fees, so your domain name purchase total will be $2.19.

I do not know how long this discount coupon will remain active.  I did use it myself earlier today and purchased a domain with it, so it has worked.
