ABOUT ME
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Hi,
My
name is Rita Jones, I am a widow in my early 60's, who lives in the
United Kingdom, and has pottered about on the internet for years.
I started off in l994 buying a computer that I knew nothing about, so much so that I did not realize
that they needed to have software installed! That was the start
of a long, and infuriating time when the computer won more than I did.
Through trial and error, a lot of bad language, tears and joys, I
finally learned how to get this darned machine to do what I wanted it
to do.
IT had trained me!!!!!
About the same time I became ill with a type of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome called
Fybromyalgia. Because of that I lost a very good, enjoyable and thriving
Driving School business overnight. One morning I got up and could
hardly walk from my bedroom to my kitchen! I was in no state to
go out and drive, let alone be in charge of a learner. I
canceled my lessons, passed my pupils on to other instructors, and tried to find out what was wrong with me.
Two
years and many visits to doctors, hospitals, etc., later, I was no
further forward. Doctors agreed I was ill, but they did not
know what was causing it, and could only offer me pain killers to
help.
The first breakthrough came when I was reading a Sunday
newspaper. There was an article about a lady suffering from
a condition called Fybromyalgia. EUREKA!!!!!!!!! That
article could have been written about me, word for word.
Mind
you, even after I got my doctors to agree that it was Fybromyalgia that
I was suffering from, the treatment changed very little, as they still
did not know what caused it, or how to treat it.
It
was a chance meeting with someone in an online chat room that changed
things for me. It turned out that he was not only a qualified
doctor, but also qualified in natural medicines. He suggested I
try drinking a relatively new product back then, called Noni
juice. I did, and within a week the aches and pains which
had ruled my life almost to the exclusion of everything else for several years,
lessened. They have never gone away completely, but from then on
they have been more manageable.
Even
the fatigue changed. I still had attacks, but over the following
several years they gradually became less severe, until today my "bad
bouts" usually last for only a few of days or so. If I
give in and rest, they are just days when I sleep longer, and have to
potter about the house. A big change from times when I could do
no more than stay in bed for weeks at a time!
During
those years, the computer helped to keep me sane! It was my link
with the outside world. I could use it when I felt able,
sometimes during the day, sometimes during the long night hours.
It was always available.
So,
when I decided I felt well enough to start doing things again on a
regular basis, it was to the computer I turned. I am still
not well enough to hold down a "regular" job, even if I was not now
officially classed as an Old Age Pensioner (who, me?). Like
lots of other people all over the world, having a computer in my home
allows me to communicate, do research, and a hundred and one
other things from the comfort and convenience of my spare room, at
times of day when I feel like working.
Of
course, this is only a small snapshot of my life. It really only
covers about the last 15 years. I will not bore you with any
more of my life, it has been a very happy, fulfilled, varied
and rewarding journey, which is far from over yet - I hope!
My
intention with this newsletter is to give my slant on this working from home industry that has sprung into being because of
home computers. I admit freely that I am working a couple of
lottery programs in the hope of earning some extra income. In the
process of working the programs I am also playing the lotteries, so
there is always the chance of winning too! (I have won a
couple of times already, but the big one is still to come.)
I intend to pass on my own experiences, opinions and findings
about working from home, working on the internet, working lottery
programs, even working at an older age, and any other interesting and
things I think you may like to read. In fact, although the
newsletter is in some ways lottery biased, just about anything and
everything may at some time or other crop up!
Also I am hoping that it will be an interactive experience. I
want subscribers to feel free to contact me with any information,
tit bits, comments, whatever, and quite possibly some of it will find
its way into the newsletter.
I do stress that the contents of the newsletter will be my own (and
possibly some of my readers own) findings, comments, experiences, etc.,
and that everyone reading this newsletter should make up their own mind
about things. Take what is written, along with whatever you
already know, or find out, and decide for yourself based on all the
facts. Never take any one persons word for anything without
checking (a little wisdom learned with age!!)
I am looking forward to sharing the next chapter in my saga with you.
Through this newsletter I hope that we can help each other build
whatever it is we each want to accomplish here in hyperspace.
Best wishes, happiness and prosperity to all.
Rita
